GHR 2009 Q4: A Time of Transition/Gratitude

2009 Global Healing
Theme: A Time of Transition
“There is no power greater than a community discovering what it cares about”

October-November-December
Focus:   Gratitude

Photo by The Rev. Warren Lynn

Quote: “Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity…. It turns problems into gifts, failures into success, the unexpected into perfect timing, and mistakes into important events. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.” —Melodie Beattie

Picture/symbol: DoveThe dove is a symbol of peace and traditional feminine mother symbol. The song of the Dove reminds us to awaken to the promise of the future to help us see what to give birth to in our lives.

Color: Green—Not only is green symbolic of the heart chakra it also creates harmony and balance in the universe..

Prayer
Divine One, Gentle Creator,
“Behold, Enjoy, Appreciate.–Welcome all who come into your life. Look with awe and smile with elation. Forgive those who stand at a distance. Be tender with the rough edges of yourself. Thank those who have settled in your heart and welcome all those who are yet to come. Peace”.

Ideas for benefiting organization: Besides the usual holiday organizations that need our generosity, perhaps there is an organization that has been particularly helpful and supportive of you and your labyrinth work…a community that gives you space to host your walks, creates events to include the labyrinth, and even Veriditas!

Ideas for ambiance: Nature’s abundant harvest and gifts to us: gourds, pumpkins, colorful leaves, pinecones, greens, wreaths, grapevines.

Music: Watching this video might inspire your own ideas for music:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Us-TVg40ExM
