GHR 2023 Q2: Journey/Move

Journey: Moving from one place to another.

As we enter the second quarter it’s time to MOVE. This is the hard part, right? Personally, I am a planner. I can come up with great, creative ideas. Implementation is where I often struggle. Orison Swett Marden said, “We advance on our journey only when we face our goal, we are confident and believe we are going to succeed.” So, this is what we must do. Let’s believe we are going to succeed.

If you are embarking on a physical journey this year, remember, “The geographical pilgrimage is the symbolic acting out of an inner journey. The inner journey is the interpolation of the meanings and signs of the outer pilgrimage. One can have one without the other. It is best to have both.” (—Thomas Merton)

And, if you are like me, remember… “No one can decide the road that inspires us to kick-start a journey better than the one embarking on the path. We may find others joining our journey, but we have to take the first step alone to reach our destination. (—Dr Prem Jagyasi)

During these months of movement, consider what Barbara De Angelis said, “The journey between what you once were and who you are now becoming is where the dance of life really takes place.”

In quarters three and four, we will ARRIVE, and REFLECT.
How do you want to journey this year? Are you ready to MOVE?
Please feel free to reach out to me with questions, insights, ideas. I love hearing from you.

–Oxford Languages

April-May-June

Focus: Move

Quote: One step must start each journey. One word must start each prayer. One hope will raise our spirits. One touch can show you care. – Unknown

Picture/Symbol: The entrance of the labyrinth. Step into it!

Prayer/Meditation:

We are travelers on a cosmic journey,

stardust, swirling and dancing in the
eddies and whirlpools of infinity.

Life is eternal.

We have stopped for a moment to encounter each other,

to meet, to love, to share.

This is a precious moment.

It is a little parenthesis in eternity. – Paulo Coelho

Ideas for benefiting organization: The Legacy Labyrinth Project. I chose this because they ARE moving forward on their journey. They are creating new paradigms for the labyrinth. Learn more and donate here: https://www.legacylabyrinthproject.org/

Ideas for ambiance: Maybe a fan around the labyrinth to create moving air. Footsteps on the ground to symbolize movement with sayings on them or allowing participants to write about their own journeys.
