GHR 2026 Q1: Grounding/Presence

I am happy to introduce the 2026 theme for the Global Healing Response— GROUNDING. It will be a year of returning to what steadies us—body, breath, Earth and one another.

As I listened to Spirit, Guides, Wise women and men here on our sweet planet Earth in preparation for 2026, I surmised the theme of Grounding wanted to be heard. “There’s a storm a brewin’,” as the saying goes. I think the more we can be present, anchored, resilient and coherent, the more likely we will emerge standing wiser and stronger.

I have changed things up a bit in the materials and am using some different prompts. We will still hold a quote, but I have added an intention, guiding question, meditation and thoughts to hold during a labyrinth walk. I hope this resonates with you and your groups that gather. If you use a different healing modality, feel free to adapt the labyrinth prompts to what works for you.

Our first focus for January, February and March will be PRESENCE.

I do love Clive’s definition of Presence from the podcast:” Presence is deceptively straightforward. It’s the act of fully showing up for the only moment that actually exists now. It’s noticing where we are—not just physically, but mentally, emotionally, spiritually. It’s asking ourselves: What is true right now? How do I actually feel? What’s happening in this breath, this conversation, this task?

In the future quarters of the year, we will focus on Anchoring, Resilience and Coherence.

I heard a historian say we are at a historic moment right now in our world. What will be interesting is how it is looked upon in the future. Will we emerge wiser and stronger? This journey we are on together won’t be easy. But no one said it would be. Will the majority of us model the way of Love? I hope so.

January-February-March

Focus: Presence

Quote: “Peace is every step.” — Thich Nhat Hanh

Intention: We practice presence by slowing down enough to notice where we are, how we feel, and what is true right now.

Guiding Question: Where am I right now?

Meditation
Let your attention come to the breath.
Feel the places your body is supported—feet on the ground, seat on a chair, back against what holds you.
Name gently: Here is my body. Here is this moment.
If thoughts pull you away, return to simple sensation: breathing, contact, sound.
Take one more slow breath and let yourself arrive.

Labyrinth Walk: Arriving

Optional Phrase: Here. Now. This step.
Intention: To arrive fully in the body and the moment.
Entry (Beginning the Walk): As you step onto the labyrinth, bring attention to your feet touching the ground. There is no need to hurry or arrive anywhere else.
Center (Pausing or Turning): At the center, pause.
Notice breath, sound, temperature, and the simple fact of being here.
Return (Walking Out): As you walk back, carry presence into each step.
Let peace be something you practice, not something you seek.
